Summary of your MISA benefits - English - Membership subscription: R13-00 per week

 

UNFAIR LABOUR PRACTICES / DISMISSALS / RETRENCHMENTS
We provide professional advice and representation at conciliation, arbitration, Labour Court and Labour Appeal Court, where required, at no additional cost to members.

We also assist members with disputes on Collective Agreement contraventions by their employers, disciplinary hearings and grievance processes.

100% of all amounts obtained through settlement negotiations and/or awards are paid to the respective member(s).

MISA BENEFIT FUND
All registered MISA members automatically belong to this Fund, which provides cover similar to “life insurance”.

BENEFIT
R19 000-00 per principle member.
Note: - A 26 week waiting period (consecutive contributions) is applicable.
Note: - Payments are made directly to the next of kin upon the death of a member.
Note: - The benefits do not become assets in the deceased person’s estate.

MISA FUNERAL FUND
All registered MISA members automatically belong to this Fund. The Fund also covers a member’s immediate family such as a spouse, children and adopted children up to the age of 18 years and children over the age of 18 years who are registered as fulltime students or who are physically and/or mentally handicapped..

A qualifying period of one week’s contribution by a registered member applies to this Fund.

DISCOUNT ON FUNERALS
MISA negotiates discount on funerals conducted by AVBOB. MISA also guarantees payment to AVBOB up to the value of the MISA Funeral Fund Benefit.

MATERNITY BENEFIT
This Fund provides a maternity benefit to the value of R1 500-00.
Note: - A total of 26 weeks’ consecutive contributions must have been received.
Note: - Application must be made within 13 weeks from date of birth.

RETRENCHMENT BENEFIT
This Fund provides retrenchment benefits to the value of R1 500-00.
Note: - A total of 26 weeks’ consecutive contributions must have been received.
Note: - Application must be made within 13 weeks from date of retrenchment.

ILL-HEALTH/DISABILITY BENEFIT
The Fund provides an ill-health/disability benefit to the value of R1 500-00.
Note: - A total of 26 weeks’ consecutive contributions must have been received.
Note: - Application must be made within 13 weeks from date of approval by the Retirement Fund.

MISA BURSARIES
MISA provides 50 bursaries to children of MISA members to the value of R10 000-00 each. Details may be obtained from Head Office.

ESTATE PLANNING
We provide members with an important additional benefit, namely the drawing up of a Last Will and Testament and/or Living Will at no additional cost. If MISA is appointed as Executor of the Estate, the following reduced fees are applicable:
• 3% on the value of your estate.
• 5% on any income generated by your estate.

SERVICE CONTRACT FOR DOMESTIC WORKER
MISA can prepare a service contract for your domestic worker at no cost.

CONTINGENCY RESERVE
This Fund is administered by MIBCO and provides financial support to members in the event of the liquidation of their employers’ businesses.

COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AND REPRESENTATION AT MIBCO
Members enjoy the focused approach of a well-versed collective bargaining team representing the members’ interests in the negotiating process dealing with wages and conditions of employment.

MISA is a party to MIBCO and represents its members on all forums within the structures, both on a regional and national level.

ONBILLIKE ARBEIDSPRAKTYKE / AFDANKINGS / PERSONEELBESNOEIING
MISA voorsien professionele advies en verteenwoordiging by Konsiliasie, Arbitrasie, Arbeidshof en Arbeidsappelhof, wanneer nodig, teen geen addisionele koste vir lede.

MISA verleen ook hulp aan lede met dispute aangaande oortredings van die Kollektiewe Ooreenkoms deur hulle werkgewers, dissiplinêre verhore en griewe prosedure.

Alle gelde verkry d.m.v. skikkingsooreenkomste en/of toekennings word 100% aan die betrokke lid/lede betaal.

MISA BYSTANDFONDS
Alle geregistreerde lede van MISA behoort automaties aan hierdie Fonds met dekking soortgelyk aan “lewensversekering”.

Voordeel
R19 000-00 per hooflid.
Nota: - ‘n Wagperiode van 26 weke (opeenvolgende bydraes) is van toepassing.
Nota: - Betalings word direk aan naasbestaandes gemaak by die afsterwe van ‘n lid.
Nota: - Die voordele vorm nie deel van die afgestorwene se boedel nie.

MISA BEGRAFNISFONDS
Alle geregistreerde lede van MISA behoort outomaties aan hierdie Fonds. Die Fonds dek ook die lid se gesinslede, bv. ‘n gade, kinders, aangenome kinders tot die ouderdom van 18 jaar en kinders bo die ouderdom van 18 jaar waar sulke kinders as voltydse studente geregistreer of gestrem is.

‘n Kwalifiserende tydperk van een week se bydrae is op hierdie Fonds van toepassing.

KORTING OP BEGRAFNISSE
MISA onderhandel korting op begrafnisse met AVBOB. MISA waarborg ook betaling aan AVBOB tot die bedrag van die MISA Begrafnisfondsvoordeel.

Die Fonds verskaf ‘n kraamvoordeel ter waarde van R1 500-00.
Nota: - Onderhewig aan 26 opeenvolgende weke se bydraes.
Nota: - Aansoek moet binne 13 weke van geboorte geskied.

PERSONEELBESNOEIINGSVOORDEEL
Die Fonds verskaf ‘n personeelbesnoeiingsvoordeel ter waarde van R1 500-00.
Nota: - Onderhewig aan 26 opeenvolgende weke se bydraes.
Nota: - Aansoek moet binne 13 weke van personeelbesnoeiing geskied.

MEDIESE ONGESKIKTHEIDSVOORDEEL
Die Fonds verskaf ’n mediese ongeskiktheidsvoordeel ter waarde van R1 500-00.
Nota: - Onderhewig aan 26 opeenvolgende weke se bydraes.
Nota: - Aansoek moet binne 13 weke vanaf die datum van goedkeuring deur die Aftredingsfonds geskied.

MISA BEURSE
MISA voorsien 50 beurse ter waarde van R10 000-00 elk aan kinders van MISA-lede. Besonderhede kan by die MISA Hoofkantoor verkry word.

BOEDELBEPLANNING
MISA voorsien lede van ‘n belangrike addisionele voordeel, naamlik die opstel van Testamente en/of Lewende Testamente teen geen addisionele koste. Indien MISA aangestel word as Eksekuteur van die Boedel, is die volgende verlaagde fooie van toepassing:
• 3% van die waarde van u boedel.
• 5% van enige ingevorderde inkomste uit u boedel.

DIENSKONTRAK VIR HUISHULP
MISA kan ‘n dienskontrak vir u huishulp gratis voorberei.

GEBEURLIKHEIDSFONDS
Hierdie Fonds word deur MIBCO ge-administreer en verskaf finansiële ondersteuning aan lede met betrekking tot die likwidasie van hul werkgewers se besighede.

KOLLEKTIEWE BEDINGING EN VERTEENWOORDIGING BY MIBCO
Lede geniet die voordeel van ‘n professionele en ervare onderhandelingspan wie tydens onderhandelinge op lone en diensvoorwaardes lede se belange verteenwoordig.
