Reading and empowering yourself with knowledge through reading, is one of the most valuable resources we have at our fingertips.
President Nelson Mandela was a well-educated man who enjoyed reading and was a strong believer in lifelong learning. He used to start his day by reading the English and Afrikaans daily newspapers.
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world,” was one of his famous quotes.
#MISA’s communication office was established on 1 March 2022. #MISA saw the need for frequent communication with our valued members to keep you abreast of development as they occur and ensure that you are informed.
Martlé Keyter, #MISA’s Chief Executive Officer: Operations, says the response was overwhelming. #MISA’s social media pages more than doubled in likes and followers. Just the Union’s Facebook-page managed to reach an astonishing 250 000 people.
#MISA wants to encourage our members to follow the Union’s social media pages to stay abreast of the latest developments, but to be mindful to follow the established channels to communicate with the Union, instead of sharing personal information on these platforms.
“#MISA has an obligation to safeguard the personal information of all our members in terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). However, as many of our members have experienced, Facebook and other social media pages can be hacked and is not secure despite all our efforts.
