I have resigned, worked my notice and received my accrued leave pay. I usually receive my bonus in December every year, and now I worked for a few month into the year and feel that I have worked for the bonus. Am I entitled to receive it?
Clause 6.1 (2) (a) of the MIBCO Main Collective Agreement stipulates the following:
“Where an employee leaves the service of his employer before qualifying for a leave bonus or additional holiday pay, such employee shall be paid a pro rata portion of his leave bonus or additional holiday pay, as the case may be, on termination of service.”
Please bear in mind that if your salary in more than R16 190.72 per year, during the period September 2017 to August 2018, or if you are employed as a Motor Vehicle Sales Person you are not entitled to a holiday bonus.
In a Nutshell: You are entitled to a pro-rata Holiday Bonus or pro-rata Additional Holiday Pay when you resign.
