MISA wishes Class of 2026 all the best

12 October 2026

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MISA wishes the Class of 2026 every success as they prepare for their final National Senior Certificate examinations, marking the completion of 12 years of schooling.

The October–November 2026 NSC examinations will begin on 13 October 2026 with Computer Applications Technology (CAT) Paper 1 Practical and conclude on 26 November 2026. More than 856,000 learners have enrolled for this year’s examinations.

Umalusi, the quality council responsible for general and further education and training, has given the green light for the 2026 NSC examinations to proceed. This follows its assessment of the readiness of the examination system, including the preparations of the Department of Basic Education and provincial education departments. Umalusi’s approval confirms that the necessary measures are in place to support the delivery of credible, fair and secure examinations.

“For many matriculants, these examinations represent the completion of 12 years of schooling and months of dedicated preparation. Their results will also play an important role in shaping their next steps, particularly for learners who plan to pursue further studies at universities, colleges and other tertiary institutions,” says Martlé Keyter, MISA’s Chief Executive Officer: Operations.

MISA recognises the important role that financial support can play in helping members’ children achieve their educational goals. The MISA Bursary contributes R12 500 towards the studies of qualifying children of members attending tertiary institutions.

In addition, MISA’s School Support programme provides financial assistance to qualifying learners from Grade 1 to Grade 12. Over the years, the MISA National Executive Committee (NEC) has approved updates to the programme to ensure that members’ children receive support throughout their schooling journey.

MISA remains committed to helping ensure that financial challenges do not prevent members’ children from completing their education and reaching their full potential.

As the Class of 2026 approaches this important milestone, MISA encourages every learner to remain focused, use the remaining preparation time wisely and approach the examinations with confidence. Learners are also reminded to follow all examination rules and instructions to help ensure a smooth and credible examination process.

MISA wishes the Class of 2026 every success in their final examinations. “May your hard work and dedication pave the way for a bright and successful future,” says Keyter.
