The Motor Industry Staff Association (MISA) is a fast growing registered Trade Union organising within the retail motor industry. This dynamic trade union provides its members with a well-versed negotiating team as well as peace of mind through the provision of a variety of benefits ranging from labour related legal assistance and financial support by way of numerous monetary benefits.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to join our growing organization. 

The candidate should have a passion for delivering well-crafted solutions, systems and services that make a positive impact on users and membership.

The candidate shall report directly to the Business Intelligence Developer and will be based in our Johannesburg offices.

Job Purpose:

The candidate will be responsible for maintaining and further development of an in-house trade union membership management application. 

The application includes:

• Membership management.
• Member relationship management including mobile application.
• Benefit claims (online claim forms with workflow).
• Contribution management.
• Membership communication – Bulk emails and SMSes.
• Integration from and to Bargaining Council.
• Integration to financial system.
• Management reports.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Developing new (and maintaining existing) features in web-based, mobile, and Windows-based applications.
• Gathering and understanding of business requirements.
• Error handling.
• Data analysis.
• Data integration.

Requirements:

• Relevant Tertiary IT Qualification – 3-year IT Diploma/Degree (beneficial).
• 5+ Years hand on development experience in Windows and Web Applications.
• Excellent programming skills in .Net
• C# /.Net
• HTML/CSS
• JavaScript
• Web API’s
